In this fourth and final Plants lesson, students learn how plants are classified and how they make more of their own kind.
Student Objectives
Part 1
- Define plant classification in terms of vascular and nonvascular plants; seedless plants and those with seeds
- Compare and contrast angiosperms and gymnosperms
- Compare and contrast monocots and dicots
Part 2
- Define a flower in terms of its structures
- Explain the processes of pollination, fertilization and germination
- Give examples of how flowers are pollinated
- Give examples of how seeds are dispersed
- Compare algae to plants
